ではいったい人間の子どもはどうしてそんなに驚異的な能力で、スピードでことばを覚えるかというと、それは難しいことばを口にした時、周囲がそれに対して驚きの目を向ける。「まぁ何々ちゃん、もうこんな難しいことばを喋れるのね」という反応があるということが、彼らの学習の原動力になっているんです。つまり、人間の子どもは自分が複雑な行動をすることによって周囲が驚嘆する。あるいは周囲から非常に積極的なレスポンスが返ってくる、それが心地よいからいろんなことを学習するんです。
